February is Black History Month- during the month of February we recognize Black History Month with a selection of hymns and spirituals by the choir and soloists.

 

Many thanks to everyone for your efforts in making the bake sale a success. Things sold quickly, and were raised just over $335 for the Choir/Piano Fund. Thanks again to those who baked, organized, volunteered or donated in any way.....well done!

Pop Can Fundraiser!! we are asking that you collect aluminum cans and bring them to the church (crushed and in a bag please)  as an ongoing fundraiser. Get the kids, neighbours, friends involved! For every pound of cans we will receive $0.35.Over time this will really add up for the benefit of the church.  Every little bit counts!

Loblaws/Sobey’s/Metro Gift Cards –   You get the full amount in purchases at the store of your choice. The church receives 3% of every order placed.

Coming Events

SPAGHETTI DINNER !! and all the fixings !!  The Revellers are going to be cooking up a storm again! Full scrumptious meal from salad to yummy, mouth-watering desserts ! Tickets go on sale Sunday January 8th. Tickets are $16 for adults, and $8 for children 10 years and under. See Laurie Clark or contact at 905-430-3294 for your ticket. Only 100 tickets are to be sold.

Seniors Valentines Luncheon  February 13….12pm.  Please join the seniors for a great time of food and fellowship! Do you flip for flapjacks? Are you hungry for hotcakes? Craving Crepes? If you answered yes to any of the previous questions Shrove Tuesday is your day to celebrate! Come on out to the annual Pancake Supper.  $5 per person / $15 per family

Youth Bowling Night - The Simcoe United youth and their friends are all invited to an evening of ROCK and BOWL at Leisure Lanes.  Saturday, Feb 25, 6-8pm  Cost is $7.50 per child plus snacks.  RSVP via email at dce.ssuc@gmail.com

 

 

The ART of PEACE - A  MARCH BREAK CAMP FOR KIDS

March 13, 14, 15 2012    9-5pm    $40     Your child can explore the ART of DRAMA, the ART of WRITING, the ART of SNACKING, the ART of CREATIVE VISUAL ART and CRAFT and the ART of MUSIC as we explore:     What is Peace? Peace in Me, Peace in Families & Communities, Peace with Nature and Peace in the World.
