Prayer

            O God of wounded heart,

hear the silent cries of your people:

the gags and numbness of all oppressed,

the despair and horror of all war-bound,

the hunger and hopelessness of all famine and poverty stricken

the fear and anxiety of all refugees and homeless,

the pangs and scars of all afflicted by natural disasters,

the fury and rage of all exploited,

the vulnerability of all discriminated and marginalized.

God of compassion and healing,

heal the wounds with your healing touch,

and restore the image and breath of God

in all your children.

We pray in the name of the One who bears the cross,

transforming it into the Hallelujah of Easter. Amen.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

         And forgive us our trespasses

As we forgive those who trespass against us,

            And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil;

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory,

                For ever and ever.                             AMEN

Lent at Home

The season of Lent is a meaningful time for families to spend together reflecting on their lives as followers of Jesus and on their relationships with one another. Lent is a time of renewal, growth, and change. Children are aware of the ways they grow and change physically. During Lent we intentionally think about how we grow and change on the inside. Consider ways that your family can spend time together in prayer, study, stewardship, and service as opportunities to grow in faith as well as to strengthen bonds with one another.
